My Wish for Your Journal Companion

Writing about the journaling process in Your Journal Companion was like writing about a dear, old friend. My relationship with it has been long – almost 30 years – and just like old friends, we have had our ebbs and flows, shared secrets, joys and sorrows, complaints and successes, and I have trusted it to be there in all its quiet acceptance, no judgment, always with an attentive ear.

Our friendship only continues to deepen as we travel this life’s journey together.

My journal has taught me how to have open, honest, vulnerable conversations with my Self and, in doing so, deepened my awareness of the thoughts and actions that serve and honor me and of those that do not. Greater awareness of Self gives me the opportunity to change my behavior in positive ways and, like the pebble dropped in a pond, my positive changes ripple out to serve and honor others. The circle goes around.

Journaling is not about “knowing how to write.” It is simply about being willing to talk to yourself on the page. There are no rules, no grammar police or red pen editors – just you and your thoughts and feelings.

Your Journal Companion is a simple guide that jump starts the process. The writing techniques strengthen your “writing muscles” and offer ways to help you get what is in your mind and heart onto the page. The prompts are the doorways into those thoughts and feelings, and 365 of them make it easy to develop a daily writing habit (even 10 minutes a day will do!) that supports the body-mind-spirit and increases Emotional Intelligence.

Believe me, there is no down side to journaling – start your journey today! Practice the techniques I share, write from one of the prompts each day and your awareness of Self and Others will heighten and broaden. I’ve even created a mobile app to help you stay true to your journaling path when you don’t have the book in hand or are traveling and on the go.

I wish you and Your Journal Companion a long, loving and insightful relationship.

Blessings,  Plynn
