There are times when life is easy, everything goes as planned, the horizon looks open, bright and clear. But all of us know that life is a series of hills and valleys, ups and downs, joys and heartbreaks, and when we experience times of trudging through the dark valley of pain and disappointment, our natural tendency is to close up, turn in on ourselves and hide. What is the alternative? What else should we do?
I offer this to you: always look for love
It is so important to find a way to stay “open” even in the midst of pain, to consciously choose to look for love, receive love, uncover love – Love, the ultimate healer.
This is not an easy task because we naturally withdraw when we are hurting. Many people simply shut down into a primal mode of survival.
However, if we can crack open the window of our heart even the tiniest amount, whispers of the wind of love can make their way in, help the hurt to begin circulating to keep it from turning to stone.
Love is the hope of change, the healing balm, the comforter of the wounded or broken heart. Love comes to us in the good thoughts and deeds of people who want to help and from the warriors of prayer, who offer their words to God and the Collective, of which we are a part in both our wholeness and our brokenness.
The sun, the trees, the morning breeze offer love; the trill of a meadowlark, the coo of doves, our animal companions and our human companions offer love; the glow of sunset, the crescent moon, whatever offers the sheer possibility of goodness, all of these things offer the energetic resonance of Love.
Take courage, open to whatever part of this Creation speaks love to your heart and let yourself heal.
Blessings and, of course, Love, Plynn
