Words of Encouragement Going Forward

It is not in my nature to speak publicly about political issues. That is not my calling in life. What I am about to share with you has nothing to do with politics and everything to do with comforting and nurturing the human spirit, which is my calling.

The past six months have been intensely emotional for most people in the United States (US). Passions and opinions ran high. There is nothing wrong with this, in and of itself. Thank goodness our democratic process encourages our unique expressions. But the vitriol that came with it, by both candidates and supporters, is energetically, deeply detrimental. In essence, we all have been verbally assaulted, if not abused, daily for several months, and this takes a huge toll on the human spirit.

I am in ongoing communication with many people in this country and around the world. Some are elated by the past week’s events and others are devastated. The question is:

How do we all move forward from here?

For those of you who are elated, remember that there was a chance that you could have been on the other side of this so, rather than gloating, rejoice in humility. Reach out to others in the spirit of inclusion, with a willingness to discover some common ground and find ways to work together.

For those of you who are devastated, in this case reflection (looking back at the would have-should have-could have’s) is valuable only for the purpose of moving forward. A certain amount of commiserating is helpful to healing but concerted, positive action toward the good you believe in is the best revival of the spirit.

For both, remember that fear, divisiveness, anger or overt pride have no place in building unity. Only clear thinking and hard work, assertiveness and compassion, will take us forward to higher ground.

Healing starts at a personal level. Please, look for the positive, speak the affirmative, extend yourself in love and compassion. This will uplift us energetically, and help to restore and re-balance both the individual and collective psyche.

Blessings to all,

Plynn
