Have you noticed that a lot of people are trying to simplify their lives these days? Everyone I know is culling, downsizing or eliminating all manner of things from real estate to clothes, books, files, furniture, the list goes on and on. Something in our psyche is changing, desiring clarity, less clutter. Maybe we have reached our “material” saturation point; we are tired of being bogged down with all the “stuff” in our lives. And the spring season encourages this all the more!
This culling-purging-elimination trend is quite exciting. Consider that everything consists of energy, and when we move energy out or change the ratio of energy of our life sphere, we create space for new energy to come in.
What does this mean? Well, for example, if you downsize your home/property it means you likely have lower utilities and maintenance costs, and spend less time cleaning and caring for your space, which means you have dollars, time and energy to put towards something else.
If you cull your library of books, you can either sell or donate the unwanted items, which create dollars, satisfaction or both. Plus, the space on your bookshelves is free for something else … maybe more books about a new interest … or pieces of the artwork you’ve created because suddenly you are excited about doing watercolors or throwing pots.
You see, often when we begin to make “space” (physical or energetic space) in our lives, new ideas, new passions start to manifest. Let them come!
Other times when we feel the need to clear out things in our lives, it’s important to do the clearing and then let things be. Let the spaces be empty. Take a breather. Sometimes “nothing” is the best medicine for a time. Feel the openness that has been created. When that space it ready to be filled, the right thing will come along.
